What sets you apart from other photographers? This is a common question. There are so many incredible photographers and I am sure you’d have great images and art from them.
Each year, we spend hours planning outfits, shopping, digging through drawers and closets. Then, we do everyone’s hair and I even get time to put on makeup. (Gimme a break, I have FOUR children!) We have friends of mine take family photos. It’s a wonderful reminder of how my clients feel. Sometimes, I am confident and feel beautiful, but most often someone his cranky and someone else is goofing off and by the end, my husband and I have “had it up to here!” But, each year, we do this. We do it to document life. We also do it because I need to remember how hard it is to be photographed.
- Cheek to cheek, looking at the camera
- Belly to belly, nose to nose and foreheads touching
- One person over the other’s shoulder like they are getting a piggyback ride
- Whisper the ABC’s into your partner’s ear in your silliest cartoon voice
- Take turns calling out an adjective that tells me why you love the other person
- On the count of three, say who your favorite person in your family is. (This can be really funny if kids call out one parent over the other. Often we are surprised and everyone ends up laughing out loud.)
